The "Hangover" movie trilogy, a modern day comedy classic, has set the bar at a place none can ever climb to. The three-part series, directed by Soon To Be Starring Lady Gaga Todd Phillips, follows the mayhem and mishaps of a quartet of pals whose bachelor party plans have a tendency to spectacularly unravel. The next is the summary of the Hangover franchise including the crazy antics, hahas, and cocktails served on the dysfunctional and unpleasant moments.
The Hangover(2009): Vegas, Baby!
The ride kicks off in Las Vegas, where Doug (Justin Bartha) is about to get married to his true love. So to commemorate the event, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis ) throw Todd an elaborate bachelor party. This leads to the night where they blackout and live it HOT, only to wake up to the chilling heat of what happens after the party! They arise to what can only be described as a hotel suite in shambles, a missing tooth, a tiger in the bathroom, and no Doug. As the male trio piece together the elements of the previous night they are struck with a series of incidents that all somehow end with comically mixed or strange results: from nabbing a police car to having to watch after a baby.
Notable Moments-The movie features some scenes like stumbling upon a tiger, in the bathroom and the unforgettable appearance of Mike Tyson, which contribute to the films comedic charm and unexpected twists.
Standout Acting- Zach Galifianakis shines in his role as Alan, the erratic wildcard whose escapades bring some of the films hilarious moments.
Mix of Laughter and Emotion- In addition to its, over the top comedy the movie also showcases the bond of friendship among the characters adding a touch of emotion to all the laughs.
The Hangover Part II (2011): Bangkok It Is!
In the sequel the Wolfpack heads to Thailand for Stus wedding. Hoping to avoid a repeat of their Vegas escapades they opt for a wedding gathering. However they find themselves waking up in a Bangkok hotel with no recollection of the night before and surrounded by chaos. Now they must navigate the exotic streets of Bangkok encountering stranger and riskier situations as they search for Stus soon to be brother, in law Teddy, who has mysteriously disappeared.
A Different Location- Shifting the scene to Bangkok brings in an captivating setting adding to the thrill and suspense of the storyline.
Increased Risks- The follow up showcases situations, like a monkey involved in drug trade and an intense car chase pushing the limits of humor and action.
Evolution of Characters- Stus personal journey is more pronounced, in this movie as he faces his fears and doubts eventually standing up for his well being and aspirations.
The Hangover Part III (2013): The Last Episode
In the third film of the trilogy, the storytelling comes back around full circle. Upon the death of Alan's dad, the gathering chooses to take Alan to a recovery homestead in Arizona. But things take a turn for the worse when the three of them are taken hostage by a man named Marshall (John Goodman), who promises to release them if they help him track down Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong), a deranged criminal who has since broken out of a high-security prison and made off with half of Marshall's gold. From this point on, the friends go on an adrenaline-fueled travel across several settings that ultimately lead them to an action hard to finish sequence that makes them question their ability and friendships.
Neat Storyline Twist- Unlike the sequels that relied on a blackout format, the third installment ditched the expected narrative development of fugitive and exploration in the quest of something new revolving around crimes and redemption.
Human Components-The movie spends more time with Alan and his issues, which only gives the humor and suspense some emotional weight by way of the gang being the only thing holding him together.
